Is email posting effective?

I was just wondering how this works?  I activated my email posting for sometime now yet, i never tested it.  This is going to be the first time.  Now, what should I write about?

Hmm....  another thing that bothers me is how many people started blogging?  what made them blog and where did they blog first?  what did they write about and is it worth reading?  do they still have a copy of their blogs or they just let them roam around in cyberspace.  regardless, i think this is an effective way to enhance your writing skills.

tweet your way to sales - social impact

i read once in Entrepreneur.com that you can use social networking sites to advertise your business.  why not?  your number 1 customers are your friends and families anyway, so why not use it to your advantage.

Facebook
who doesn't have facebook?  I mean, come on people... its not the stone age anymore.  You're so behind if you don't have facebook.

with credits to Soraya Del Mar, she had effectively used facebook to enhance her business.  Soraya and I used to worked together, and I know personally that she is a fashionista by heart.  Since we know her taste and styles, once she established her online business, we got on board, buying from her accessories and stuff.  what she does is posts pictures of her products and voila, instant hit!  i bought 2 bags and pouches from her and waiting for other uploads.

Twitter
If you love blabbing about your business, why not blab it in 140 character long ads, in twitter.  twitter can be updated anytime, especially if you have it as a phone application.

Youtube
You can make a video of your service or product and upload it in youtube.  you can use the embed codes to put the video in your site too.  innovative and completely up-to-date... above all, its FREE.

Read other marketing ideas here and here.

Remember, these are small things that create great impact for your business.  Your friends and families are your number 1 supporter, they are also your number 1 clients.

Enjoy!

Paid-to Sites

I have come across so many paid-to sites that i've lost count.  some of them are legitimate while others... well, let's just say don't waste your time.

there's nothing wrong with earning online and have fun too.  if you really think this sites are for you, go ahead.  it wouldn't hurt to try.  The thing about earning online (unless you established it yourself) is to really take the time to do so, think it through, and have tons of patience and hard work.  This isn't a rich schemes and this isn't a substitute for a "job".  Not all sites will let you earn your dream earnings, but it will be a great addition to your monthly earnings.  For literary majors and budding writers, all of these sites will help you improve your writing skills.

PAID-TO-POSTS SITES:

Mylot
This site is fun if you love forum sites.  each post will earn you $0.02 and upon reaching the payout.  they will send it to your paypal account.  It's not much. and again, this is not a substitute to your job.

Epinions and Reviewstreams
These sites let you write reviews and earn from it.  Your earnings depend on how many clicks you have and the comments / rates you get from the readers.  If you consider yourself a critic, these sites are for you.

PAID-TO-CLICK SITES:

I don't have the patience to click ads all day.  I would rather read blogs and articles relevant to me.  But, for additional earning purposes, 10 minutes of my day to click ads is fine.   here are some sites I would consider.

-  Clixsense.com (payment is sent to you by check)
-  Neobux.com
-  Buxmatrix.com
-  Clicksia

Just to name a few.  I found some of these sites from another ad site, Sulit.com.ph.  Enter paid-to-click in the search box.  Some of these sites pay you through Alertpay while others thru Paypal.  better have 2 account.

PAID-TO-WRITE SITES:

For budding writers, these sites are for you.  these will definitely enhance your writing skills.

Associated content, Triond and E-how
These sites offer wide range of subjects so you can write whatever you like.  Minimum of 500 words per article.  These are great sites to master your writing skills.  Each articles are subject for approval.  No plagiarism.  It might take a while to publish your article in these sites.  Earnings are kind of slow.  Earnings depend on the number of visits your article gets.  So, unless you advertise your article, then you can get the earning you want.

About.com
If you're an expert in your field, you might want to consider writing in this site.  Most people go to this site for resources and references.  I dont think you'll earn in posting for this site but this will be a great exposure for you, your article and your expertise.  Writing Ethics apply.  (No plagiarism).

Blogger
If you love writing but no place to post it, you could just make a blog.  you can earn by putting ads in your site.  Earnings depend on the number of clicks your ad gets.  You need to have a lot of traffic to get the desired clicks you want.  Be sure that your articles are original, so it gets on top of the once keywords are typed in search engines.

hope you get an idea of how to earn online.  You still need hard work, patience and lots of ideas.

Happy earning!

Best way to look for FREEBIES

I love freebies and bargains.  It's not easy to find unless you know where to look.  Everything right now is within your reach.  Internet has made everything easy, accessible and global.

Search Engines are the best when it comes to looking for freebies.  Most of the sites I post here are searchable in Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc.  There is definitely nothing wrong with the sites posted.  I always believe that not everything have to be expensive and if there's a will, there's a way.  I hate the phrase "I don't know" unless i really, really don't know after exerting a lot of effort and resources, and i still couldn't find what it is.

Now... freebies...  EVERYTHING in this site is free.

Localized freebies:  you have to look in your local newspapers, local ad sites, ask the vendors or service providers in your area.   you can also do trade-ins or exchanges or advertise.  Again, there are lots of free adsites.

EBay also is a great site for bargains. You can look a bargain store or site that is available in your area.  You can also look in facebook pages for some stuff.  Shipping can be tricky so you have to find out if you have to shoulder the expense or is it free.

With the rise of internet, all the stores now are global.  One cannot say they do not know where to look anymore.  All you have to do is be resourceful. :)

In the Philippines, there are several adsites that are extremely effective, just to name a few:

SULIT
Highly recommended free ads site.  It has forums which connects you to members and fellow advertisers, and has also publishes business articles in their forums and site.  Ads are there for 30 days, free extension.  You have to acquire SULIT POINTS to be a premium member and prioritize your ads.  check out the site for more information.  Registration is free.

BUY AND SELL

(07 December 2010 - Updates:  Buy and sell has changed their ad format.  you need to register now to post an ad.  Ads are subject to approval.  It is still FREE to post for ads, although, they have paid ad posts if you prefer)

Highly recommended free ads site and magazine.  They sell the magazine but putting ads there is free.  They have other related magazine for specific purpose like property finder (for property listings) and Job finder (for employers and jobseekers).  No need to register but you have to fill up an form to advertise.  All ads in the site are also published in their magazine.  Ads are published every next issue in the magazine and published in the site one week after the magazine.  Since it is biweekly, the ads only last about 4 days in the site but magazines have longer shelf life so they can be kept longer.  if you want it advertised every issue, you need to fill up the form once its is published.

Other free online ads sites in the Philippines:

Free Business Letters

Everyone struggles to write a good letter, whether for business or for personal reasons.  It is so much easier to talk, basically because you don't need to edit what you say.  Conversations progress and before you know it, you are talking about something totally different from what you're discussing.

4hb.com is a site that offers free business letters.  They have about 500 sample business letters for almost every situation.  They are all short and concise letters, and you can copy all of them.  You can also improve the letter, change the subject, or change the whole thing.

It aims to help you, at least, give an idea of what to write.  It is totally up to you if you want to copy it fully or modify it.

They have related articles which you can copy and paste in your blog, as long as you write the author and their details.  They also have a library and resources online.

Lately, I've seen some printable calendars, diaries (journals) - scheduler, etc.  It wasn't there before but it's helpful, catered for small businesses.

Again, It's all FREE.

google did have a lot of things in-store for us when it comes to being resourcesful. i always say, the best things in life are free so take advantage of the freebies in the internet. education need not to be expensive, as the sites say. there's no harm in trying out what's out there in the worldwide web in terms of education.

sites that offer free online courses:

learnthat.com - ranges from computer to business. they dont give certificates though, just the knowledge. it wouldn't hurt to try, still added skills.

Free online courses

I always look for ways to improve myself.  be it self-help books or another course to spend on. but like what i've said in the previous posts, i dont have that much money.  internet has come a long way and its not only for fun.  everything now is available with just one click.

I keep telling my friends to utilize the internet for the purpose of learning.  though, not everything internet is free, they are still ways to catch up with things.  did i mentioned i love looking for freebies? anyway, internet is one of the best place to look for freebies...

here are some legitimate sites which you can enhance your knowledge.
this site does have free courses.  it may not be as comprehensive as a classroom-based education, but it does its job.  i love the idea that its free.
they usually offer computer / IT related courses, but they also have mini-business courses.  they give certificate upon completion, although you have to type your name yourself.
this site offers tutorials and mini-courses, mostly about Microsoft application.
you have to be quick though.  the courses are so in-demand, they close the slots as quick as you blink.  they give out certificate of completion with your name on it and CEU (continuous education units) points.

this site offers variety of courses such as business, IT-related, management, personality development, etc.  they dont give certificates but their courses are detailed and a little comprehensive, so you'll definitely learn.  they have copyrights and they don't want their courses to be copied.

4.  Alison

honestly, I haven't tried any courses this site offers but it looks legit and comprehensive.  i am definitely going to register for a course that i think would definitely help me out.  registration is free.

5.  Wiziq.com

they offer public courses with interactive (virtual) classroom.  it feels as if you are in a classroom.  you can check the site out for public course offerings.  registration is free.
free resources online and mini-courses.  that's all i can say about this site.  they definitely do have a lot of resources.

Internet is not just a place for fun, for social networking and research.  you can utilize it to learn whatever you want.

Free Ebooks

I can't say I'm a book-addict but whenever I've come across a really, really interesting book, I can't resist.  I'm just all over it.  I can't get enough of reading it.  My imagination has gone wild.  I can't put the book down.  I stay up so late at night just reading.  I keep telling myself, just one chapter and I'm off to bed.  As soon as i finish the chapter, i go on to another chapter... and another, and another, until it's 4:00 am.  I close the book and my eyes so tight thinking i can still get at least 2 hours of sleep before work.

When I'm at work, I still have the book with me and read it when i get a chance (like a break or in between assignments).  No one can bother me except for my boss.  My friends don't want to talk to me when im reading.  i just ignore them.  im in this fantasy place.  I keep picturing myself as the damsel in distress, the sexy heroine, the helpless victim, the businesswoman giving advises, etc. etc. etc.  whatever the book theme is.

I have to admit that most of the books i've read are fiction.  but nothing sure beats the non-fiction especially business books... like marketing strategies, how-to's, the research they've done on men and women or just people in general.

but let's face it...  books are expensive.  maybe that's the reason why i never bought books, except the ones i really like or the one that's required in school.  interesting topics obviously comes in Big Bucks! (not packages).

on the other hand, ebooks are everywhere.  they're becoming a trend and i hear people reading ebooks more than paperbacks... for obvious reasons... its cheaper.

if you love books but you dont have the money, here are some of the free ebook sites that can help you.  i have become so updated with fashion magazines such as the one below since finding these sites.

APRIL 2010 ISSUE OF ELLE MAGAZINE

1.  ebook30.com

ebook30.com has wide range of ebooks / audiobooks to choose from... from business to technology, from books to magazines, fiction to non-fiction, etc.  i mean they have a wide-range of books.  they even have medical ebooks. so for those who are taking up medical courses, they probably have a book for you.  unfortunately, since they are free... its limited.  don't get frustrated if you can't find your book.  it only means your book can only be bought online / offline.

You have to be registered first before you can download a book. don't worry though... Registration is free.

just click here to go to the site.

2.  free-ebooks.net

this site also has a diverse number of books.  not just that, you can even get your book published (better yet, listed) on their site and be one of their famous author.  they actually encourage you to be an author and they'll publish it their site. WOW!

but like the ebook30.com, you have to be registered.  of course its still free.  but benefits of free members are also limited.  you can only download 5 PDF ebooks per month so you have to choose the books you want to download carefully.  if you still can't resist the urge to download, you can download the html format.  html format is unlimited.

3.  Get free ebook

i have not download any book from this site yet but the fact that i can and its free... who wouldn't take advantage of that.  After all, who doesn't like free.

you can still get great ebooks using the search engines... either bing, yahoo, or google.  these sites are all here for our perusal, make use of it!

Can't find my NICHE

they say before you start blogging, you need to find your niche.  unfortunately for me, my niche doesn't come with specifics.  I have lot of things that interests me to the extent that i don't know what i like anymore... doesn't everyone else.

my interests expand whenever i wanted to learn something new (interest).  for example, i used to be an account executive for a tarpaulin printing business.  since most of the clients i brought to the company don't have the slightest idea how to design, i enrolled in a GRAPHIC DESIGNING CLASS.  it worked out for a while until i got bored and found another thing to keep me occupied.

i worked as medical transcriptionist when i came to the mideast.  i have never heard of a medical transcription profession until that time, which is almost 5 years ago.  i've known of call centers but never transcription.  to top it all, there are several types of transcripts.  Audio transcripts, video transcripts, legal transcripts and of course, medical transcripts.  hmm...

i eventually got bored with medical transcription so now, i studied how to earn online.  i found blogging.  i have several blogs now which i don't really write on [and i wouldn't be surprised if i eventually got bored and discontinue this].  i enrolled in a TEFL course which now makes me eligible to teach English anywhere in the world (considering I am not a native English speaker).

the point is... after everything and anything I have done, i realize that interests and niche doesn't have to be specific.  finding your niche is a life long process.  for now, i will enjoy the niche that makes me happy.  be it teaching, blogging, transcribing, etc.  we shouldn't be afraid to explore our potential.  we are not locked to a specific, we are made for something great.

"you become what you think..." after all, there are ways to gain knowledge, make money without spending a dime.  just read all the blogs and articles about making money online or working from home everywhere.  the opportunities are endless.  I hate to limit myself.  so should you...

-  this is me venting...
